Hi everyone, I’m Maddie!

Summer swim has always been my favorite. I love the energy of the team and how everyone shows up excited to be there - it makes competing feel fun while still pushing us to do our best. I’ve been a Wahoo since elementary school, and over the years I’ve also competed with SEVA, CGBD, Menchville High School, and now the Virginia Military Institute. I’ve also been an assistant coach and lifeguard at Wendwood! Since I can no longer compete as a Wahoo, coaching is the next best thing!

I currently swim sprint freestyle and the 100 and 200 breaststroke. I’ll be a sophomore this fall studying Psychology. Outside of the pool, I enjoy Bible study, baking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I’m really looking forward to this season and especially excited to see some familiar faces again!

Hi to everyone I know and those I can't wait to meet!!

A bit about me... I learned how to swim when I was 2 at Akai swim school. I joined the Swim Devil's Swim Team and then Surfside Swim Team in 3rd grade. I joined the SPPY swim team in high school and swam Division 1 in college and then swam with the Masters team. I swam at Nationals my Junior and Senior year of high school and have enjoyed open water swimming since Junior high, including 1, 2, 3, and 10 mile races in college.

At 12 I saved my 4yr old neighbor from the bottom of their backyard pool and it fueled my passion for water safety. I became a lifeguard 3 summers later. I have taught swim lessons to all ages, from infants to adults, since the Age of 16.

I am a mom first and foremost with a massive passion for water safety, skill development, and building intrinsically motivated swimmers.

I absolutely love this team, pool, and community. And I especially love these kids. I can't wait to see everyone back on the pool deck 💜💛💜💛.
